Ruang Antara Mimpi (2026)
Ruang Antara Mimpi is a sound and video experience unfolding 24 dreams from individuals living in Kuala Lumpur. Transforming the Bamboo Playhouse at Taman Botani Perdana into a “shared subconscious” of the city. Extracting dreams from the city and the visitors that come. The piece asks: What does it mean to dream in a city that does not let you sleep?
In a city shaped by continuous movement, labour, and urban pressure, dreaming exceeds the boundaries of rest. The installation drifts across 24 rooms, echoing the 24 cranial nerves: pathways between inner experience and the external world. Each room holds a dream - a confession from someone you might encounter in your daily life: a neighbour, a Grab driver, a temple caretaker, a waitress at your favourite gerai, or a Burmese construction worker.
The immersive environment is underscored by live organic electronic sound and shifting projections, creating a space in constant cerebral flux - like thought in motion. A quiet space is nestled within the density of the work, offering moments to pause, rest, and recalibrate. The final room invites visitors to contribute their own dreams, extending the installation into an evolving collective archive.

Taha Long
Artist
Taha Long is a multi-disciplinary artist from Klang, Malaysia. He works across film, installation, and performance. Across the arts, his work interests itself in proximity between cultures, how it harmonizes and clashes.
He graduated from School of Visual Arts with an MPS in Film Directing, and is an alumna of the Playlab Films' 2022 Apichatpong Weerasethakul's Lab. His projects have been the recipient of the PBS Latino Public Broadcasting Grant, Katharina Otto-Bernstein Grant, Krishen Jit Fund and Hai-O Arts and Culture Grant. His producing work continues to be featured on publications, such as Dance Magazine, Tatler Asia, New Straits Time, Hip Latina, Mitú, and etc
Hafreez Amminuddin
Co-Artist
Hafreez Amminuddin is a creative producer/ director from Miri, Sarawak. He started his creative journey by doing PR & Marketing, and slowly branched into commercials and digital content as the years went by. Currently, he is working in a digital company called Xeno Entertainment. He has worked for brands such as Foodpanda, Samsung & Sephora Malaysia.
Additionally, in 2020, he started his own creative production company, House of Karyawan, and produced a number of music videos for notable names like Zee Avi, Harith Zazman & Ayda Jebat.
Bryan Chang
Technical Director, Lighting Designer
Bryan Chang is a designer and artist working across graphic design, scenography, and media art—spanning visual identity, print and digital design, lighting, multimedia, and photography. He has worked with artists, theatre companies, cultural organisations, and international festivals.
Selected work includes Fragments of Tuah, Pending, Will You Be My Witness, Notes from the Fringes, Switchblade Operation: The Longing, Symbiocene, Dari Pinggiran, and Every Thought I've Ever Had. His work for theatre and dance—particularly lighting, sound, and multimedia design—has won art prizes and earned multiple nominations.
Bryan co-founded Sans Collective, an interdisciplinary group creating work for performance and exhibition.
Dhan Illiani
Space Designer
Dhan illiani yusof is a multi disciplinary artist with a range of practices in fine art and fashion ranging in conceptual works, creative direction and performance art, a member of projek rabak, Dhani’s work experiments across different methods of expressions and collaborations.
Kamal Sabran
Sound Artist
Dr Kamal Sabran is a Malaysian new media experimental artist, researcher, and academic whose practice moves between sound, technology, and spirituality. He is a lecturer in new media art at Universiti Sains Malaysia and the founder of the Space Gambus Experiment, a platform dedicated to expanding experimental music through dialogue between traditional Asian instruments and electronic sound. Rather than treating tradition as static heritage, he activates it in contemporary contexts, creating immersive sonic environments that invite contemplation and restoration.
One of his notable performance series, Kelas Tidur, began as an experimental practice in his classroom at USM and was recently presented at Sonic Shaman 2026. Through carefully composed soundscapes, the performances guide participants into states of rest, reflection, and subtle bodily awareness. The project reflects his broader interdisciplinary research into art-based interventions for mental health and well-being, integrating experimental sound and performance into frameworks of care.
